Honorary Memberships (Hon MSBCE) are conferred by the Society to recognise distinguished individuals for major service or achievements rendered meritorious to entrepreneurship or a closely related discipline, normally on a National level. Honorary Members includes leading entrepreneurs, business leaders, and innovators from various fields who have changed things for the better. Honorary Memberships can be awarded to individuals from any nation and is restricted to 150 individuals at any one time. All Honorary Memberships are a lifetime honour and are awarded with the post-nominals Hon MSBCE for life, in recognition for their exceptional contributions to the entrepreneurial landscape. 2025 Honorary Members will be announced in due course.

Selection Criteria - Honorary Membership

Nominees for the Honorary Membership should exhibit a excellent record of achievement in one or more of the following areas:

• Has a direct connection to entrepreneurship

• Proactively displays entrepreneurial qualities in its broadest sense

• Demonstrated commitment to entrepreneurship, generating a beneficial impact

• Notable achievements, leadership, service or impact rendered meritorious to entrepreneurship (or a closely related discipline) on a national scale.

​It is recommended that the nominee is not informed of the submission to avoid any disappointment if unsuccessful.​

Who can put forward nominations?

Nominations may only be submitted by any current Member (MSBCE) or Fellow (FSBCE) of the SBCE.

Nominations are accepted year-round and can be submitted via nomination form. Once received, the nomination will be reviewed.​​
